Rabbit Hole Heigold Kentucky straight bourbon is just such an offering, paying homage to Christian Heigold, a German stonecutter immigrant landing in Louisville in 1850. Currently a contract distillation with an undisclosed Kentucky distillery, Heigold is an ongoing release aged for a minimum of 3 years in #3 char Kelvin Cooperage barrels with a mash bill of 70% corn, 25% rye, and 5% malted barley and has a matured barrel strength of 95% proof. The aroma carries hues of sweetly toasted malt ad caramel. On the tongue are hints of citrus zest, butterscotch, and cracked pepper spice.
