Balcones Distilling 100 Proof Rye whisky offers a mash bill of 100% rye; Elbon Rye, crystal, chocolate, and roasted rye malted grains – and is aged for a minimum of 18 months in oak and carefully batched. The nose is a unique blend of funk and herb with hits of blackened bananas, roasted coffee, and crushed pine needles soaked in chocolate and sweet cooked caramel. The palate enjoys is layers of melted chocolate, crushed coffee beans with notes of cream, caramel, and hazelnuts sprinkled over banana cream stuffed pastry.
