Originally founded among 20 other distilleries in the county of Daviess which lies on the Kentucky-Indiana border, Daviess County Distilling Company started its journey in 1874 and survived Prohibition by the ‘skin of its teeth’ so to speak. Now a top line under Lux Row Distilling, which revived the brand in February 2020, Daviess County continues its journey with its offering of authentically crafted Kentucky straight bourbon. This whiskey is aged for 4 years, has an undisclosed mash bill with no age statement (NAS), and a cask strength finish of 96% proof. Aromas of lightly toasted vanilla bean and sweet toffee open the nose. The taste holds sweet rye spice and crushed black pepper with just a touch of brewed Earl Grey tea.
