Created for La Maison du Whisky as a special release by the iconic Chichibu distillery, the Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Paris Edition 2020 Japanese Single Malt Whisky is a wonderfully toned whisky with a unique finishing profile. Released in 1,833 bottles, this sublime single malt is crafted in two small batches; 5 distinct barrels selected from 2013 and aged in a blend of first-fill bourbon, virgin oak, and a Port pipe – and 3 bespoke barrels distilled from 2014 that include a refined red wine cask and two handpicked quarter casks. Pronounced aromatics of creamy banana split, vanilla nougat, earthy oil, and surprising notes of porter beer and rye greet the nose. On the palate are hints of chocolate, cinnamon, roasted salami meat, and rose wine seasoned with camphor and nutmeg.
