Founder Ken Lewis opened New Riff Distillery in 2014 and from then until now, this relatively young distillery has certainly put a new riff on classically crafted whiskey. And New Riff Distilling Kentucky Straight Rye is even more proof of that – 100% proof! This NAS classified rye (aged a minimum of 4 years) is an ongoing release and combines a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley with a finished cask strength of 100% proof. Riff Kentucky straight rye is a BiB offering without chill-filtration and offers aromatic notes of smoky char, oak, and torched orange rinds over baked oats and vanilla-blended caramel. The palate offers up undertones of sweet oranges, citrus zest, pepper, and smoked tobacco layered in honey.
